A Bill to amend Section 13-7-10, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to the definitions pertaining to the Atomic Energy and Radiation Control Act, so as to define "nonionizing radiation"; amend Section 13-7-40, relating to the powers and duties of the Department of Health and Environmental Control under the Act, so as to authorize the Technical Advisory Radiation Control Council to advise the Department on matters pertaining to nonionizing as well as ionizing radiation, change a reference to the Chiropractic Association, require two members of the Council to have recognized knowledge in the field of radiation without the requirement that it be to ionizing radiation, provide for department regulations on and reference to nonionizing as well as ionizing radiation and authorize the Department as well as the Attorney General to apply for an order to enjoin violations of the Act; and amend Section 13-7-45, relating to the authorization of the Department to promulgate regulations for licensing, registration, and certification of users of the sources of ionizing radiation, so as to authorize the Department to promulgate regulations regarding nonionizing radiation.-amended title
