A BILL
TO AMEND SECTION 20-7-420, AS AMENDED, CODE OF
LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE
FAMILY COURT'S EXCLUSIVE JURISDICTION, SO AS TO
ALLOW EXPUNGEMENT OF A MINOR'S RECORD
PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 20-7-1335, 17-1-40, 17-22-150,
34-11-90, AND 44-53-450.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South
Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 20-7-420 of the 1976 Code, as last
amended by Acts No. 102 and 105 of 1995, is further amended by
adding an appropriately numbered item to read:
"( ) To grant expungement of offenses tried in family
court from a minor's record pursuant to Sections 20-7-1335,
17-1-40, 17-22-150, 34-11-90(e), and 44-53-450."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the
Governor.
