S*1271 Session 124 (2021-2022) S 1271 {Rat #193, Act #252 of 2022} General Bill, By Peeler AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 587 OF 1992, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 1, SO AS TO REAPPORTION THE SPECIFIC ELECTION DISTRICTS FROM WHICH MEMBERS OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 1 MUST BE ELECTED BEGINNING WITH SCHOOL TRUSTEE ELECTIONS IN 2022, AND TO PROVIDE FOR DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION IN REGARD TO THESE NEWLY DRAWN ELECTION DISTRICTS. - ratified title (A252, R193, S1271) AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 587 OF 1992, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 1, SO AS TO REAPPORTION THE SPECIFIC ELECTION DISTRICTS FROM WHICH MEMBERS OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 1 MUST BE ELECTED BEGINNING WITH SCHOOL TRUSTEE ELECTIONS IN 2022, AND TO PROVIDE FOR DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION IN REGARD TO THESE NEWLY DRAWN ELECTION DISTRICTS. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina: Cherokee County School District 1 reapportioned SECTION 1. SECTION 2 of Act 587 of 1992, as last amended by Act 298 of 2012, is further amended to read: "SECTION 2. (A) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, beginning with school trustee elections in 2022, the nine defined single-member election districts from which members of the board of trustees of Cherokee County School District 1 must be elected are as shown on Cherokee County School District 1 map S-21-00-22 as maintained by the Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor. Ratified the 12th day of May, 2022. Approved the 13th day of May, 2022.
