 A Concurrent Resolution expressing the sorrow of the members of the General
 Assembly at the death of Colonel William Rhett Risher of Charleston County and
 extending sympathy to his family and many friends.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF COLONEL WILLIAM RHETT RISHER OF CHARLESTON COUNTY AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Colonel William Rhett Risher of Charleston, retired Chairman of the Citadel Board of Visitors, died in April, 1992, at the age of sixty-four; and

Whereas, Colonel William Rhett Risher was a retired educator, a successful businessman, and a graduate of the Citadel; and

Whereas, he was past Chairman of the Citadel Board of Visitors, and the Citadel and its alumni are forever in his debt for the devoted and distinguished service and leadership he provided in this capacity; and

Whereas, he received numerous professional honors and awards during his long and distinguished career including former headmaster and owner of the Carlisle Military School, former Vice President of the U.S. Jaycees and President of the South Carolina Jaycees, and served as President of the South Carolina Junior Chamber of Commerce, President of the Easter Seal Society of South Carolina, Easter Seal Chairman, and Vice President and Campaign Chairman of the South Carolina Mental Health Association; and

Whereas, he was an outstanding individual who meant much to his community and the State, and we want the members of his family and his many friends to know that they have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Colonel William Rhett Risher of Charleston County and extends sympathy to his family and many friends.
