H*4592 Concurrent Resolution, By Stuart
A Concurrent Resolution congratulating Pelion Elementary School of Lexington
County on winning the State Incentive Award for four consecutive years.

01/25/94 House Introduced, adopted, sent to Senate HJ-11
01/26/94 Senate Introduced, adopted, returned with concurrence SJ-6

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING PELION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF LEXINGTON COUNTY ON WINNING THE STATE INCENTIVE AWARD FOR FOUR CONSECUTIVE YEARS.

Whereas, Pelion Elementary School of Lexington County School District One has won the State Incentive Award for four consecutive years and is the only school in the district to have done so for that number of years; and

Whereas, the State Incentive Award is based on student achievement as evidenced by performance on BSAP and SAT 8 testing; student test scores are compiled to give every school a school gain index; schools with a school gain index in the top twenty-five percent in their group win an incentive award; and

Whereas, Pelion Elementary School has been in that top twenty-five percent for four consecutive years, and, in fact, Pelion has been in the top ten percent in the State for the last three years; and

Whereas, Pelion Elementary School's accomplishments have been superb, and the students, teachers, administration, and staff of this truly outstanding school deserve to be recognized for their commitment to excellence in education. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Pelion Elementary School of Lexington County on winning the State Incentive Award for four consecutive years.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Pelion Elementary School, in care of Charles E. Walker, principal.
