A SENATE RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING MS. ROSALIE FRAZIER PAZANT OF BEAUFORT
COUNTY ON BEING NOMINATED AND SELECTED BY SOUTH CAROLINA BUSINESS VISION AS
ONE OF "SOUTH CAROLINA'S TOP 25 AFRICAN-AMERICAN INFLUENCERS FOR 1997".

A SENATE RESOLUTION
CONGRATULATING MS. ROSALIE FRAZIER PAZANT OF
BEAUFORT COUNTY ON BEING NOMINATED AND
SELECTED BY SOUTH CAROLINA BUSINESS VISION
AS ONE OF "SOUTH CAROLINA'S TOP 25
AFRICAN-AMERICAN INFLUENCERS FOR 1997".
Whereas, Ms. Rosalie Frazier Pazant of Beaufort County has been
honored by South Carolina Business Vision by being
nominated and selected as one of "South Carolina's Top 25
African-American Influencers for 1997"; and
Whereas, Ms. Pazant received this prestigious designation based
upon outstanding performance and service in her field of endeavor
and for the use of her influence and talents to improve quality of life
in the community through active service and example; and
Whereas, in recognition of this designation, she will be featured in
the Spring 1997 issue of South Carolina Business Vision;
and
Whereas, she received her B. A. degree in English Education from
Savannah State College and a master's degree in Education from
South Carolina State University; she did further study at North
Carolina A&T State University and the University of South
Carolina and completed all class work for the doctorate degree at
Nova University; and
Whereas, she has been an outstanding educator at the high school and
college levels in her distinguished professional career; she also served
as a Reader for the College Board with Essay since 1979 and, more
recently, as a Reader for the SAT; she has received numerous awards
over the years, including The Education Award for the State of South
Carolina presented by the National Association of Black Women; she
has been the Beaufort County Teacher of the Year twice and STAR
Teacher, and she was the first black educator to be named State
Teacher of the Year by the State American Legion; and
Whereas, she has also been involved in the Gullah Festival and serves
as its president; she is active in her church and in many other areas of
her community; she is an outstanding individual and gives most
generously of her time, talents, and resources to all who need her
assistance; she is greatly admired for her dedication and service, and
we are delighted to have this opportunity to accord her this special
recognition. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by
this resolution, congratulate Ms. Rosalie Frazier Pazant of Beaufort
County on being nominated and selected by South Carolina
Business Vision as one of "South Carolina's Top 25
African-American Influencers for 1997".
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
Ms. Rosalie Frazier Pazant.
