 WISHESNext TO THEM AND THEIR FAMILY ON THIS DAY OF JOY.

A SENATE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING JOHN AND THELMA BAILEY OF RICHLAND COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND EXTENDING BEST PreviousWISHESNext TO THEM AND THEIR FAMILY ON THIS DAY OF JOY.

Whereas, John and Thelma Bailey were joined in holy matrimony on March 29, 1947; and

Whereas, their blessed union produced four loving children, John Jr., Cheryl, Darrielle, and Byron; and

Whereas, they are the proud and doting grandparents of fourteen grandchildren; and

Whereas, their marriage has been a symbol of love and trust for their children and grandchildren; and

Whereas, their active membership in and service to Second Calvary Baptist Church, including John's service as Chairman Emeritus of the Deacon Board, is an outstanding model for young men and women of the community; and

Whereas, John is a retired mail carrier from the United States Post Office and Thelma from the Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School, where she was once principal; and

Whereas, this loving couple has used these retirement years to continue to serve their community through activities with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and with the District 73 Task Force and as volunteers with Sanders Middle School. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the South Carolina Senate congratulates John and Thelma Bailey of Richland County on the occasion of their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary and extend best Previouswishes to them and their family on this day of joy.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to John and Thelma Bailey.
