HIM FOR HAPPINESS FOLLOWING HIS RETIREMENT.

A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
COMMENDING AND THANKING JOHNATHAN MOULTRIE
OF GEORGETOWN FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO
THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF GEORGETOWN COUNTY AND
PUBLIC EDUCATION IN SOUTH CAROLINA, AND
EXTENDING BEST WISHES TO HIM FOR HAPPINESS
FOLLOWING HIS RETIREMENT.
Whereas, from 1970 to 1972, Johnathan Moultrie served as a teacher
at Plantersville Elementary School and, from 1972 to 1976, as
Assistant Principal of Andrews High School; and
Whereas, Mr. Moultrie was the Principal of Choppee Middle School
from 1976 to 1978 and served as Director of Secondary Education for
the School District of Georgetown County from 1978 to 1985; and
Whereas, he was the Principal of Georgetown High School from
1985 to 1987 and was the school district's Assistant Superintendent
for Administration for six years from 1987 to 1993; and
Whereas, since 1993, he has served as Deputy Superintendent of the
School District of Georgetown County; in this position, from which
he is retiring in 1998, he has worked next-in-line to the school
district's superintendent in executing the business of the district and
in interpreting and executing the laws appertaining to the operation
of the public schools; and
Whereas, Mr. Moultrie earned his B.A. degree in elementary
education at Benedict College in Columbia in 1970 and his master's
degree in education administration from The Citadel in 1975; he also
did further studies at the University of South Carolina, Coastal
Carolina University, and the Citadel; and
Whereas, he is a member of a number of professional associations
and has numerous professional and community activities to his credit;
he has worked hard for excellence in South Carolina education and
has been devoted to his duties and responsibilities as an educator and
administrator; he is widely respected and admired for his abilities,
vision, leadership, and accomplishments and is highly deserving of
recognition and thanks for all that he has achieved and contributed to
public education, his chosen profession. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate
concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this
resolution, commends and thanks Johnathan Moultrie of Georgetown
for his outstanding service to the School District of Georgetown
County and public education in South Carolina and extends best
wishes to him for happiness following his retirement.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
Mr. Moultrie.
