A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR RETIRED LIEUTENANT COLONEL TERRY LEE GREENFIELD OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY, ABBEVILLE COUNTY VETERANS AFFAIRS OFFICER, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AFTER YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO HIS STATE AND NATION, AND TO PreviousWISHNext HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, it is altogether fitting and proper that the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina should pause in its deliberations to express gratitude to Terry Greenfield for his significant contributions to Abbeville County Veterans Affairs; and

Whereas, born in Charleston, he is the son of retired Master Sergeant Richard Greenfield of the United States Air Force and Roberta Greenfield, and he graduated from Sprayberry High School as a Distinguished Graduate of ROTC; and

Whereas, Lieutenant Colonel Greenfield earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Kennesaw College in Marietta, Georgia; and

Whereas, in the proud tradition of sons of the Palmetto State, he served with distinction for twenty-two years in active duty commissioned service in the United States Army and has been retired from the Greenwood City Police Department at the rank of lieutenant since 2014; and

Whereas, he and his beloved wife, Susan, were married in September 1994, and he has two fine children who have blessed him with two wonderful grandchildren; and

Whereas, Lieutenant Colonel Greenfield attends Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Greenwood and serves as the commander of American Legion Post 2 of Abbeville, president of Chapter 7 of the Blue Knights Riders, a member of the American Legion Riders, and a volunteer driver for the Disabled American Veterans Transportation Network; and

Whereas, during his service in the military, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with Five Oak Leaf Clusters, Humanitarian Service Medal, Governors Unit Citation, National Defense Ribbon, State Service Ribbon, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge; and

Whereas, in his retirement, he plans to continue as a municipal court judge for the City of Greenwood and to enjoy his many community affiliations and volunteer work assisting disabled veterans; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are grateful for the years of dedication that Terry Greenfield has devoted to the Abbeville County Veterans Affairs and PreviouswishNext him many years of enjoyment as he begins his well-earned retirement on June 30, 2017. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor retired Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lee Greenfield of the United States Army, Abbeville County Veterans Affairs Officer, upon the occasion of his retirement after years of outstanding service to his State and nation, and Previouswish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Terry Lee Greenfield.
