RELATING TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SCHOOL
DISTRICT OF WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SO AS TO FURTHER
PROVIDE FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE ANNUAL SCHOOL
BUDGET FOR THE OPERATION OF THE DISTRICT AND THE TAX

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Annual school budget
SECTION 1. Item (3) of Section 2 of Act 632 of 1980, as last amended by
Act 743 of 1990, is further amended to read:
"(3) Prepare and approve the annual budget for the operation of
the district and determine the tax millage necessary for budgetary purposes,
the millage to equal the millage producing the minimum required local
funding obligations of the school district under the provisions of Act 163 of
1977 (Education Finance Act) or, if greater, the requirements imposed by
the Education Improvement Act of 1984. In addition to any tax millage
necessary to produce the minimum required local funding obligations of the
Education Finance Act and the Education Improvement Act for the current
year, the district may levy a maximum of three mills, in addition to the total
tax millage so calculated to meet the minimum local funding for that fiscal
year."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
