A HOUSE RESOLUTION
CONGRATULATING THE RESIDENTS OF THE TOWN OF
VARNVILLE IN HAMPTON COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF
ITS ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY.
Whereas, the residents of the Town of Varnville in Hampton County
will celebrate the one hundred and twenty-fifth anniversary of its
founding with opening ceremonies to begin May 5, 1997; and
Whereas, this special anniversary will serve as an occasion for
residents of the Town of Varnville to commemorate its founding in
1872 and gather to honor those civic leaders, past and present, who
have made Varnville a unique and dynamic place to live; and
Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the House of
Representatives to pause and recognize this important anniversary in
the life of an important South Carolina community. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate the
residents of the Town of Varnville in Hampton County as they
prepare for opening ceremonies beginning on May 5, 1997, to
commemorate the one hundred and twenty-fifth anniversary of its
founding.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
the Honorable Don C. DeLoach, Mayor of Varnville.
