 A HOUSE RESOLUTION TO EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES OF THE
 MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO MR.
 AND MRS. GERALD SAUNDERS OF GREENVILLE COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR
 FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND TO EXTEND TO THIS COUPLE EVERY BEST WISH FOR
 MANY MORE YEARS OF WEDDED BLISS.

TO EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO MR. AND MRS. GERALD SAUNDERS OF GREENVILLE COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND TO EXTEND TO THIS COUPLE EVERY BEST WISH FOR MANY MORE YEARS OF WEDDED BLISS.

Whereas, after fifty beautiful loving years together, Gerald and Verla Saunders' hearts continue to grow stronger for one another and brighten the lives of all who are around them; and

Whereas, this couple was married on June 3, 1956 at the First Christian Church in McPherson, Kansas shortly after Gerald proposed in a 1955 Chevrolet, which he still owns and occasionally drives around town to the embarrassment of his grandchildren; and

Whereas, they began their married life in Bartlesville, Oklahoma where Gerald worked for Phillips Petroleum before being transferred to Greenville, South Carolina, in the mid-1960's where they raised their three boys in Gower Estates; and

Whereas, in 1977, Gerald went into business for himself and moved to Simpsonville, where he is currently a partner in Saunders & Company, PA, and Verla is a partner in Saunders Office Supply, Inc.; and

Whereas, Gerald and Verla are blessed with three wonderful sons, who are all married, and six loving grandchildren. Marc and Sheri live in Simpsonville with Nicole and Ashlee. Bret and Claire live in Simpsonville with Ryan and Gage, and Drew and Jackie live in Melbourne Beach, Florida with Tracee and Jackson; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, are pleased to recognize Gerald and Verla on the occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary and look forward to them celebrating many more anniversaries in the years to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, extend their congratulations and best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Saunders of Greenville County on the occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary and extend to this couple every best wish for many more years of wedded bliss to come.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Saunders.
