VERSIONS OF THIS BILL

3/28/2007

S. 619

A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE FAMILY TRUST FEDERAL CREDIT UNION ON ITS FIFTIETH PreviousANNIVERSARYNext OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF YORK COUNTY AND TO WISH ITS STAFF AND MEMBERS MANY MORE YEARS OF SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP.

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is pleased to learn that Family Trust Federal Credit Union is celebrating its fiftieth PreviousanniversaryNext of outstanding service to the citizens of York County; and

Whereas, chartered by the Federal Bureau of Credit Unions on February 26, 1957, Family Trust Federal Credit Union began operations as the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Federal Credit Union, due to its ties with the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing plant; and

Whereas, the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing plant generously supplied the new credit union with office space at no charge for many years, increasing the space as required by the growth of the credit union, until the credit union was able to build on its own property in 1967; and

Whereas, in 1982, the credit union took advantage of a change in the laws governing credit union operations to add two new sponsoring employee groups, Rock Hill School District Three and Ebenezer Nursing Home; and

Whereas, to reflect its increasing and diversifying membership more appropriately, in 1988, Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Federal Credit Union changed its name to Family Trust Federal Credit Union; and

Whereas, in October 2000, the credit union applied to become a "community charter" credit union and was granted a new field of membership that included "all persons that live, work, worship, or attend school in York County, South Carolina"; and

Whereas, having grown from almost ninety-two thousand dollars in assets and one thousand eight hundred twenty-five members in the early days to an asset base of just under two hundred million dollars and over twenty-eight thousand members, the Family Trust Federal Credit Union celebrates its fiftieth PreviousanniversaryNext in service at six branches located throughout York County. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate the Family Trust Federal Credit Union on its fiftieth Previousanniversary of outstanding service to the citizens of York County and wish its staff and members many more years of successful partnership.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Family Trust Federal Credit Union.
