A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE JACK AND GRACE HICKS ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR SIXTIETH WEDDING PreviousANNIVERSARYNext AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES FOR MANY MORE YEARS OF BLESSING AND FULFILLMENT.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that Jack and Grace Hicks will celebrate their sixtieth wedding PreviousanniversaryNext on April 29, 2007; and

Whereas, there is no greater success in life than a marriage and family life that endure the test of time and grow stronger with each passing year; and

Whereas, the long-lasting love and support of a spouse is unmatched in its importance and cannot be overestimated; and

Whereas, Jack and Grace Hicks' commitment to one another over the past sixty years is to be revered and serves as an inspiration to both family and friends; and

Whereas, Jack Hicks, now retired from BellSouth after many years of service, enjoys hunting and fishing and considers one of his crowning achievements as having had the good sense to marry his beloved Grace and to raise with her three fine children, daughters Cindy and Tam and son Jack, Jr.; and

Whereas, Grace Hicks, a recipient of the State of South Carolina's Order of the Silver Crescent, is a real estate agent and an active member of the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce; and

Whereas, dedicated members of the First Baptist Church of Irmo, Jack and Grace together have walked with the Lord through life, instilled a love of the Lord in their children, and demonstrated that love through their daily words and actions; and

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the members of the House of Representatives express their congratulations to these two special South Carolinians on reaching the milestone of their diamond wedding PreviousanniversaryNext. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Jack and Grace Hicks on the occasion of their sixtieth wedding Previousanniversary and extend best wishes for many more years of blessing and fulfillment.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Jack and Grace Hicks.
