TO AMEND SECTION 59-18-900 OF THE 1976 CODE, RELATING TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPREHENSIVE PreviousANNUALNext REPORT CARDS FOR SCHOOLS, TO PROVIDE THAT PARTICULAR DATA MUST BE COMPILED FOR MILITARY CONNECTED CHILDREN AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE DATA MUST BE COMPILED IN A REPORT AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 59-18-900 is amended by adding an appropriately lettered new subsection to read:

"(    )    The Education Oversight Committee, working with the State Board of Education, is directed to establish a comprehensive PreviousannualNext report concerning the performance of military connected children who attend primary, elementary, middle, and high schools in this State. The comprehensive PreviousannualNext report must be in a reader-friendly format, using graphics whenever possible, published on the state, district, and school website, and, upon request, printed by the school districts. The Previousannual comprehensive report must address at least attendance, academic performance in reading, math, and science, and graduation rates of military connected children."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
