AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-80, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO VOTING PRECINCTS IN ANDERSON COUNTY, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT PRECINCT NAMES, PRECINCT LINES, AND POLLING PLACES ARE AS SHOWN ON MAPS FILED WITH THE CLERK OF COURT OF ANDERSON COUNTY, THE STATE ELECTION COMMISSION, AND THE DIVISION OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICAL SERVICES AS OF MARCH 1, 1984, INSTEAD OF OCTOBER 1, 1983.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Voting precincts in Anderson County

SECTION 1. Section 7-7-80 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 69 of 1983, is further amended to read:

"Section 7-7-80. All the precinct names, precinct lines, and polling places in Anderson County are as shown on maps filed with the Clerk of Court of the county, the State Election Commission, and the Division of Research and Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board as of March 1, 1984. The written descriptions of the precinct names, lines, and polling places must be filed with the maps.

Following the annexationNext to the city of Anderson of any area not including a voting place and before a polling place has been established, it is lawful for any qualified voter residing in sucharea at the time of the PreviousannexationNext to vote in any general, special, municipal, or primary election, if otherwise qualified, upon production of a registration certificate showing that he is duly registered in the precinct from which the PreviousannexedNext area was taken. Any voter participating in the election must vote at the polling place in the municipality nearest his residence and must furnish the managers with evidence satisfactory to them of his residence within the Previousannexed area. When any person has voted under the provisions of this section, one of the managers shall forthwith write across the back of his registration certificate the word 'voted' with the date on which the election is held and the initials of the managers."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
