AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 515 OF 1982, RELATING TO THE ANNUAL MARCH OF DIMES
BEAUFORT BRIDGE RUN, SO AS TO CHANGE THE DATE OF THE EVENT FROM THE
THIRD SATURDAY IN OCTOBER TO THE SECOND SATURDAY IN OCTOBER.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Annual March of Dimes Beaufort Bridge Run
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Act 515 of 1982 is amended to read:
"Section 1. The Richard V. Woods Memorial Bridge and
the J.E. McTeer, Sr., Bridge in Beaufort County must be closed by the
Department of Highways and Public Transportation for a period not
exceeding two hours beginning at nine a.m. on the second Saturday in
October of each year so that those participating in the annual March
of Dimes Beaufort Bridge Run may cross the bridges in a safe manner.
The Department of Highways and Public Transportation, the City of
Beaufort, the Town of Port Royal, Beaufort County, and the organizers
and sponsors of the run are immune from liability except for gross
negligence from incidents arising from participation in or association
with the run."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
