upon his death.

A SENATE
RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS
OF THE SENATE TO THE FAMILY OF MR. N. F. MANLY,
JR., FORMER MAYOR OF NORTH AUGUSTA, UPON HIS
DEATH.
Whereas, the members of the Senate were saddened to learn of the
recent death of Mr. N. F. Manly, Jr., of North Augusta; and
Whereas, he was a long-time resident of North Augusta and was
one of its outstanding civic and community leaders; and
Whereas, Mr. Manly served two nonconsecutive terms as Mayor of
North Augusta. He later served as his district's representative on
the South Carolina Highway Commission and was instrumental in
bringing much-needed highway improvements to the City of North
Augusta; and
Whereas, he was a person of great wit, charm, and ability who
earned the affection and respect of all those with whom he came
into contact throughout his work and travels in our State; and
Whereas, the members of the Senate, by this resolution, would like
to extend their sincere condolences to his family and many friends
upon the death of this truly outstanding South Carolinian. Now,
therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate hereby express their deepest
sympathy to the family and many friends of Mr. N. F. Manly, Jr.,
former Mayor of North Augusta, upon his death.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
the family of the late Mr. N. F. Manly, Jr.
