died during the Legislative Interim.

A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY OF MR. JOHN
KERMIT ADDY, SR., OF LEXINGTON WHO DIED DURING THE
LEGISLATIVE INTERIM.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were deeply saddened
to learn that during the legislative interim on August 28, 1991,
Lexington and the State of South Carolina lost one of its most respected
business and civic leaders with the death of Mr. John Kermit Addy, Sr.;
and
Whereas, Mr. Addy was president and owner of Addy Dodge, Inc. of
Lexington and served on the National Dodge Dealer Advisory Council
Board of Directors and on the Chrysler Corporation Dealer Council
Board; and
Whereas, he also served three terms as Mayor of Lexington and earned
a reputation for courtesy and fairness while serving as Mayor. In
addition, he served his community in numerous other capacities
including sixteen years on the Lexington Medical Hospital Board of
Directors, and as a member of the Lexington Lions Club and as a
member of the Babcock Center Foundation; and
Whereas, Mr. Addy was a true friend of the Lexington State Bank. He
served on the advisory board of the bank for seventeen years before
being appointed to the board of directors of both the Lexington State
Bank and L.S.B. Bancshares, Inc. of South Carolina. He served on both
boards until his retirement in 1990; and
Whereas, with the death of this truly fine man, South Carolina has lost
a distinguished business leader, a respected public official, and a good
friend; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution,
would like to express their sincere condolences to his family and many
friends upon his unfortunate death. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly hereby extend their deepest
sympathy to the family of Mr. John Kermit Addy, Sr., of Lexington who
died during the legislative interim.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his
wife, Mrs. Frances Addy.
