Senate to the family and many friends and admirers of Mr. John Matthew Price,
Sr., of Parksville in McCormick County who died Saturday, June 26, 1993.

A SENATE RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
SENATE TO THE FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS AND ADMIRERS OF
MR. JOHN MATTHEW PRICE, SR., OF PARKSVILLE IN MCCORMICK
COUNTY WHO DIED SATURDAY, JUNE 26, 1993.
Whereas, Mr. John Matthew Price, Sr., of Parksville in McCormick County
died Saturday, June 26, 1993; and
Whereas, Mr. Price was well known in his community for his continued
operation of the family grist mill, one of only two remaining water-powered grist mills in South Carolina; and
Whereas, he was active in many civic and historic organizations and served
on the boards of many governmental commissions and businesses; and
Whereas, Mr. Price was an Army veteran serving during World War II and
was a member of Parksville Baptist Church, the Elks Club, and the Moose
Club. He also was a Mason; and
Whereas, he was State Director of the South Carolina Rural Electric
Cooperative Board, a Director of Little River Electric Cooperative, a
member of the South Carolina Agriculture Commission, and a Director of
the South Carolina Farm Bureau and the McCormick County Soil and
Water Conservation District; and
Whereas, survivors include a daughter, Beth Price Christie, of North
Augusta; a son, John Matthew Price, Jr., of Greenville; a brother, James
Aubrey Price of Robbinsville; and a grandchild; and
Whereas, the members of the Senate are proud to recognize the life of Mr.
John Price, Sr., and to note his many accomplishments. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate express their deepest sympathy to the
family and many friends and admirers of Mr. John Matthew Price, Sr., of
Parksville in McCormick County who died Saturday, June 26, 1993.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
family of Mr. Price.
