A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS
OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY OF MR.
JOHN L. MCCOY OF GREAT FALLS UPON HIS DEATH.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were deeply
saddened to learn of the death of Mr. John L. McCoy of Great Falls
on Thursday, August 28, 1997; and
Whereas, Mr. McCoy was a member of the original Board of
Aldermen of Great Falls that met for the first time on May 12, 1968;
and
Whereas, Mr. McCoy was prestigiously selected to arrange the
presentation of the Town Charter on May 22, 1968; and
Whereas, Mr. McCoy honorably served as Councilman for the Town
of Great Falls until May 31, 1980; and
Whereas, Mr. McCoy served as an active Mason for sixty-four years;
and
Whereas, Mr. McCoy will always be remembered by his beloved
family and friends as an individual devoted to family, church and
community. Now therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives
concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South
Carolina hereby express their deepest sympathy to the family and
friends of Mr. John L. McCoy.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
the family of Mr. John L. McCoy.
