RETIREMENT FROM AN EXEMPLARY CAREER IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AS CAPTAIN OF THE
PATROL DIVISION OF THE CLEMSON UNIVERSITY POLICE AND WISHING HIM WELL IN ALL

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO JERRY LEE MULLIKIN OF PENDLETON, ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM AN EXEMPLARY CAREER IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AS CAPTAIN OF THE PATROL DIVISION OF THE CLEMSON UNIVERSITY POLICE AND WISHING HIM WELL IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly note that Jerry Lee Mullikin has retired after an exemplary career in law enforcement, beginning with the Clemson University Student Police in 1971-72, with the Clemson City Police, beginning in 1974, where he rose through the ranks to become an investigator, and from August 1991 through his retirement in April of this year, with the Clemson University Police, where at retirement he was serving as Captain of the Patrol Division; and

Whereas, in addition to his law enforcement career, Jerry Mullikin has pursued other avenues of service to his country, state, and community with service in the South Carolina Army National Guard, from which he retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, as a valued member of the Anderson School District No. 4 Board of Trustees, as Past Master of Slabtown Masonic Lodge #233, as Past Patron of Anderson Chapter #130 Order of the Eastern Star, as a lay leader for Pendleton United Methodist Church, and as President of the Retired Officers' Association of the Armed Forces, Anderson District; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations so that they may honor the public service of so distinguished a South Carolinian, whose service in the difficult but essential calling of law enforcement has been an example to all who serve their fellow citizens as law enforcement officers. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, express congratulations to Jerry Lee Mullikin of Pendleton, on the occasion of his retirement from an exemplary career in law enforcement as Captain of the Patrol Division of the Clemson University Police and wish him well in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Jerry Lee Mullikin.
