A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS APPRECIATION TO JERRY A. MILLER FOR HIS LEADERSHIP IN ENHANCING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THE CITIZENS OF THE IRMO AND CHAPIN COMMUNITIES WHILE SERVING AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE IRMO-CHAPIN RECREATION DISTRICT.

Whereas, Jerry A. Miller served as the Executive Director of the Irmo-Chapin Recreation District from August 1994 until January 2001; and

Whereas, during his tenure, Mr. Miller planned and implemented many successful programs for the communities of Irmo and Chapin; and

Whereas, Mr. Miller initiated the successful passing of a nine million dollar bond referendum, hosted the grand opening of phase one of the Saluda Shoals Park, began construction of phase two of Saluda Shoals Park, renovated Seven Oaks Park, and implemented a Park Ranger Program; and

Whereas, the citizens of Irmo and Chapin were privileged to have Jerry A. Miller as the Executive Director of the Irmo-Chapin Recreation District. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express appreciation to Jerry A. Miller for his leadership in enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of the Irmo and Chapin communities while serving as Executive Director of the Irmo-Chapin Recreation District.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Jerry A. Miller.
