 FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF FAITHFUL AND TIRELESS WORK IN THE FIELD OF MEDICINE AND
 FOR HIS HUMANITARIAN SERVICE TO HIS COUNTRY, THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND
 HIS COMMUNITY.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND DR. PETER GEORGE MANOS OF GREENVILLE COUNTY FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF FAITHFUL AND TIRELESS WORK IN THE FIELD OF MEDICINE AND FOR HIS HUMANITARIAN SERVICE TO HIS COUNTRY, THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND HIS COMMUNITY.

Whereas, Dr. Peter George Manos was born in Greenville County on August 11, 1928; and

Whereas, he is a 1945 graduate of Greenville High School, attended The Citadel, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in 1949, was awarded a medical degree from the Medical College of South Carolina in 1957, and completed his Internship at Greenville General Hospital from 1957 to 1958; and

Whereas, from 1951 to 1953, Dr. Manos served his country with distinction as a member of the United States Army with service in Korea in the United States Medical Corps; and

Whereas, Dr. Manos has served as a family practictioner in Greenville County since 1958 and presently is associated with the Doctors Care facility on Congaree Road in Greenville. He also is a Senior Associate Staff Member of both Greenville Memorial Hospital and St. Francis Hospital, and served on the Board of Visitors of the Medical University of South Carolina in 1986; and

Whereas, Dr. Manos is active in numerous civic organizations which include the: Greenville County Medical Society, South Carolina Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, American Academy of Family Practice, American Legion Post 3, Masonic Lodge #274, Scottish Rites and Hejaz Shrine, Sigma Chi Fraternity in which he holds a life membership, National Rifle Association, South Carolina Waterfowl Association, Emory University Alumni Association, The Citadel Alumni Association, Carolina Alumni Association, and Medical University of South Carolina Alumni Association; and

Whereas, he is a faithful member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral where he served as President of the St. George Parish Council from 1960 to 1961 and served on the Parish Council in 1985; and

Whereas, Dr. Manos is married to the former Elizabeth Anne Click, and together they are the proud parents of five children and have been blessed with nine grandchildren; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly would like to take this opportunity to pause in their deliberations to recognize the accomplishments and humanitarian service that this son of South Carolina has provided his country, State, and community. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend Dr. Peter George Manos of Greenville County for his many years of faithful and tireless work in the field of medicine and for his humanitarian service to his country, the State of South Carolina, and his community.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Manos.
