SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO THE FAMILY OF MR. JAMES F. KIRKLAND OF NORTH AUGUSTA
WHO DIED DURING THE LEGISLATIVE INTERIM.

A SENATE RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS
OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO THE FAMILY OF MR.
JAMES F. KIRKLAND OF NORTH AUGUSTA WHO DIED
DURING THE LEGISLATIVE INTERIM.
Whereas, the members of the Senate were deeply saddened to learn
of the death of Mr. James F. Kirkland of North Augusta who died
during the legislative interim on November 19, 1996; and
Whereas, Mr. Kirkland was a native of Aiken, a Navy veteran of
World War II, and was a retired textile printer with the Clearwater
Finishing Plant, a division of United Merchants and Manufacturing,
with thirty-nine years of service; and
Whereas, he was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Langley,
where he was a former Sunday School teacher, a Sunday School
superintendent, and a member of the Leslie Key Sunday School
Class; and
Whereas, the members of the Senate, by this resolution, would like
to express their deepest sympathy to his widow, other family
members, and friends upon the death of this truly fine man. Now,
therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate hereby express their
deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. James F. Kirkland of North
Augusta who died during the legislative interim.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
his widow, Mrs. Lorice Bates Kirkland.
