A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF LILLIAN BOATWRIGHT BOLAND OF SPRINGFIELD AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

Whereas, Lillian Boatwright Boland of Springfield died May 30, 1996, at the age of sixty-nine; and

Whereas, Mrs. Boland was born in AugustaNext, Georgia, and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, a member of Springfield United Methodist Church, and a retired pharmacist; and

Whereas, she was the mother of the Honorable Robert T. (Bobby) Boland of Manning, the Clarendon County Administrator, who is highly respected statewide by his peers and the people he serves in Clarendon County; and

Whereas, also surviving are Mrs. Boland's husband, PreviousAugustusNext M. Boland, Sr., of Springfield; a daughter, Louise B. Ross of Bamberg; a son, Dr. PreviousAugustus M. Boland, Jr., of Barnwell; a brother, Lewellyn T. Boatwright of Corales, New Mexico; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and

Whereas, Mrs. Boland was admired and loved by all who knew her and was a valued member of her community; and

Whereas, we want her family and friends to know that they are in our thoughts and have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Lillian Boatwright Boland of Springfield and extends sympathy to her family and friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Boland's family.
