S*168 Session 123 (2019-2020) S 0168 {Rat #2, Act #99 of 2019} Joint Resolution, By Hembree, Leatherman, Climer, Setzler, Young, Cromer, Verdin, Johnson, Rice, Alexander and Campsen A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION SHALL DEVELOP RECOMMENDATIONS FOR REDUCING AND STREAMLINING THE AMOUNT OF PAPERWORK AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS OF TEACHERS, SCHOOLS, AND SCHOOL DISTRICTS, TO PROVIDE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CONTENT OF THESE RECOMMENDATIONS, AND TO PROVIDE THE DEPARTMENT SHALL REPORT ITS RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY BEFORE AUGUST 1, 2019. - ratified title (A99, R2, S168) A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION SHALL DEVELOP RECOMMENDATIONS FOR REDUCING AND STREAMLINING THE AMOUNT OF PAPERWORK AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS OF TEACHERS, SCHOOLS, AND SCHOOL DISTRICTS, TO PROVIDE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CONTENT OF THESE RECOMMENDATIONS, AND TO PROVIDE THE DEPARTMENT SHALL REPORT ITS RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY BEFORE AUGUST 1, 2019. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina: Development of streamlining recommendations SECTION 1. The State Department of Education shall develop recommendations for reducing and streamlining the amount of paperwork and reporting required of teachers, schools, and school districts. These recommendations must include information on required reporting and administrative paperwork at the classroom, school, district, and state levels, the entity requiring the data or report, the method of reporting, and frequency of the report. The department also must include information on federal reporting requirements and include information on the potential loss of funding at the state and district levels if the reports are not completed. Before August 1, 2019, the department shall report its recommendations to the Chairman of the Senate Education Committee and the Chairman of the House Education and Public Works Committee. Time effective SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor. Ratified the 20th day of February, 2019. Approved the 21st day of February, 2019.
