AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-40, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA,
1976, RELATING TO VOTING PRECINCTS IN AIKEN COUNTY, SO AS TO REDEFINE THE
BOUNDARIES OF CERTAIN VOTING PRECINCTS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Voting precincts in Aiken County
Section 1. Section 7-7-40 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 138 of
1979, is further amended so as to redefine voting precincts numbers 16,
Graniteville No. 16; 18, Langley No. 18; 19, Lynwood No. 19; 37, Talatha No.
37; 46, Six Points No. 46; 50, Breezy Hill No. 50; 58, Fox Creek No. 58, as
follows:
"Precinct No. 16, Graniteville No. 16--Beginning at the intersection of
state road 104, and state road 69, then following state road 69 northeast to
state road 973, then west on state road 973 to state road 974, then following
state road 974 north to state road 645, then east on state road 645 to state
road 69, then following state road 69 north to state road 792, then west on
state road 792 to state road 791, then following state road 791 north to state
road 1558, then east and then south on state road 1558 to state road 33, then
following state road 33 east to SC 191, then north on SC 191 to Bridge Creek
and state road 105, southeast on state road 105, to state road 1303, then
southwest on 1303 to SC 118, south on SC 118 to US 1/US 78, then west on US
1/US 78 to SC 191, then north on SC 191 to state road 104 and following state
road 104 to state road 69 and the point of origin.
Precinct No. 18, Langley No. 18--Beginning at the intersection of Horse
Creek and a line extending from the end of an unpaved road contiguous to the
north end of State Road 408, then following east on Horse Creek to Langley
Pond, then along the southeast boundary of Langley Pond to the middle of the
southernmost segment of Langley Pond, then turning ninety degrees to the
southeast and running in a straight line to the intersection of SC 421 and
State Road 485 (Carline Rd.), then following SC 421 east to State Road 285
(Myrtle St.), then southeast on State Road 285 to State Road 482, then
following State Road 482 northeast to State Road 1220, then northeast on State
Road 1220 to State Road 202 (Belvedere St.), then following State Road 202 to
State Road 87 (Pinelog Rd.), then west on State Road 87 to State Road 65, then
following State Road 65 west to State Road 66 (Jones St.), and then north on
State Road 66 (Jones St.) until it intersects with a spur of the Southern
Railway serving the J. M. Huber Corporation, then following the spur to its
junction with the Southern Railway and State Road 408, then following north to
the end of an unpaved road extending from the north end of State Road 408 and
then a line from the end of the road to Horse Creek and the point of origin.
Precinct No. 19, Lynwood No. 19--Beginning at the intersection of State Road
67 and Horse Creek, then following east on Horse Creek to a line extending
from the end of an unpaved road extending from the north end of State Road
408, then going south on the line and the unpaved road to the junction of
State Road 408, the Southern Railway, and a spur of the Southern Railway
serving J. M. Huber Corporation, then following the spur to its intersection
with State Road 66, then following State Road 66 (Jones St. ) south to State
Road 65 (Pinelog Rd.), then southwest on State Road 65 to State Road 46
(Langley St.), then following State Road 46 northwest to State Road 734 (Flint
Dr.), then southeast on State Road 731 to State Road 391 (Bryan Dr.), then
following State Road 391 north to State Road 67 (Anthony Dr.), and then
northwest on State Road 67 to Horse Creek and the point of origin.
Precinct No. 37, Talatha No. 37--Beginning at the intersection of state road
57 (Green Pond Church) and the boundary of the Savannah River Plant, then
northwest on state road 57 to state road 1409, then west on state road 1409 to
Town Creek, then north on Town Creek to state road 81, then southeast on state
road 81 to SC 302, then south on SC 302 to an unnamed, unpaved road leading
into state road 816, then east on state road 816 to SC 19, then north on SC 19
to state road 729 (Talatha Church Rd.), then east on state road 729 to state
road 79 (Banks Mill Rd.), then south on state road 79 to the boundary of the
Savannah River Plant, and then west along the boundary of the Savannah River
Plant to state road 57 and the point of origin.
Precinct No. 46, Six Points No. 46-Beginning at the intersection of SC 118
and the Aiken city limits (north of Aiken Community hospital), then north on
SC 118 to state road 1303, then northeast on state road 1303 to SC 19, then
south on SC 19 to Aiken city limits, then west on city limits to state road
105 (Vaucluse Rd.), then northwest on state road 105 to state road 80 (Trolley
Line Rd.), then west on state road 80 to state road 289 (Gregg Ave.), then
southwest on state road 289 to Aiken city limits, then north on the city
limits to SC 118 and the point of origin.
Precinct No. 50, Breezy Hill No. 50--Beginning at the intersection of Little
Horse Creek and state road 104 (Chalk Bed Rd.), then north on Little Horse
Creek to the Edgefield County line, then east on the county line to state road
144 (Bettis Academy Rd.), then south on state road 144 to Interstate 20, then
northeast on Interstate 20 to Sage Mill Branch, then south on Sage Mill Branch
to Bridge Creek, and Bridge Creek to SC 191, then south on SC 191 to state
road 33, then west on state road 33 to state road 1558, then north and west on
state road 1558 to state road 791 (Edward Street), then south on state road
791 (Edward St.) to state road 792 (Sinn St.), then east on state road 792 to
state road 69, then south on state road 69 to state road 645, then west on
state road 645 to state road 974, then south on state road 974 to state road
~73, then east on state road 973 to state road 69, then south on state road 69
to state road 104, and then northwest on state road 104 to Little Horse Creek
and the point of origin.
Precinct No. 58, Fox Creek No. 58--Beginning at the intersection of the
North Augusta city limits and the Savannah River, then following the county
line north and then east to US 25, then south on US 25 to Interstate 20, then
following Interstate 20 to state road 45 (Five Notch Rd.), then southwest on
state road 45 to state road 901 and state road 901 to the North Augusta city
limits, then west on the city limits to the Savannah River and the point of
origin."
Time effective
Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor. |
