AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE FILING PERIOD IN WHICH CANDIDATES FOR ELECTION TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 1 MUST FILE FOR OFFICE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Cherokee County School District 1 filing period

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 7-11-15 of the 1976 Code or any other provision of law, the filing period for persons wishing to file statements of candidacy for election to the board of trustees of Cherokee County School District 1 opens at noon on the second Friday of AugustNext of the year in which the nonpartisan election is to be held and closes at noon on the fourth Friday of PreviousAugust of that year.

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
