AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 1981-82 FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE CALHOUN COUNTY MUSEUM AS A PUBLIC INSTITUTION OF LEARNING THROUGH THE LEVY OF ONE ADDITIONAL MILL IN THE COUNTY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Supplemental appropriation authorized
SECTION 1. In addition to the appropriations authorized in Section 8 of a 1981 act bearing ratification number 261 for Orangeburg-Calhoun County Technical College and the Calhoun County Mental Retardation Commission, the following supplemental appropriation is hereby authorized for fiscal year 1981-82 for the Calhoun County Historical Commission as governing body of the special purpose district as provided in Act 757 of 1952 as amended by Act 124 of 1971 for the support of the Calhoun County Museum as a public institution of learning for the citizens of Calhoun County:
Proceeds from the levy of one mill but not to exceed $28,000; provided, however, if the levy of one mill is less than $28,000 the smaller amount is deemed to be the appropriation. The funds appropriated herein shall be expended by the Calhoun County Historical Commission as the governing body of the special purpose district created for the maintenance and operation of the Calhoun County Museum. Such expenditures shall be made based upon a voucher duly processed through the office of the county treasurer as provided by law. No funds shall be expended by the Commission except for the operation of the Calhoun County Museum as a public institution of learning in the manner and consistent with the purposes set forth in Act 757 of 1952 as amended by Act 124 of 1971.
Levy and collection of additional mill
SECTION 2. The county auditor shall levy and the county treasurer shall collect the additional one mill authorized in Section 1.
Time effective
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
