A Bill to amend Section 44-53-370, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, as
amended, relating to controlled substances and dangerous drugs, so as to
reduce the maximum prison term from three months to thirty days and to
increase the maximum fine from one hundred to two hundred dollars for a first
offense of possession of a certain amount of marihuana or hashish, so as to be
within magistrates' jurisdiction, to authorize magistrates or municipal judges
to discharge conditionally offenders and to increase the amount allowed for
bail.
