RESOLUTION
CONGRATULATING THE VARSITY CHEERLEADERS OF
MIDDLETON HIGH SCHOOL OF CHARLESTON COUNTY ON
WINNING THE SOUTH ATLANTIC REGIONAL CHEERLEADING
CHAMPIONSHIP AND THEREBY QUALIFYING TO
PARTICIPATE IN THE 1993 NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
CHEERLEADING CHAMPIONSHIP FEBRUARY 20-21, 1993, AT
SEA WORLD IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA.
Whereas, the varsity cheerleaders of Middleton High School of
Charleston County have won the South Atlantic Regional Cheerleading
Championship held at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia; and
Whereas, the team from Middleton thereby qualified to participate in the
1993 National High School Cheerleading Championship February 20-21, 1993, at Sea World in Orlando, Florida, which event will be
televised on ESPN; and
Whereas, the team's winning routine in the South Atlantic Regional in
Columbia was a two and one-half minute exhibition of cheerleading,
dancing, gymnastics, and crowd appeal; and
Whereas, the team consists of juniors and seniors from Middleton High;
the captains are John Cooper, Bridgett Copeland, and Kami Ruple; and
the team includes Alexis Bacon, Kimmie Bouvette, Kevin Bryant, Tony
Crist, Jordan Davis, Denise Hamilton, Candy Hunt, Addie Stark, Josh
Steinert, Alexis Theiling, Jason Weatherford, and Taylor Withington;
and
Whereas, their dedication, hard work, talent, and unity, as well as their
regional victory in Columbia, are highly deserving of recognition. Now,
therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this
resolution, congratulates the varsity cheerleaders of Middleton High
School of Charleston County on winning the South Atlantic Regional
Cheerleading Championship and thereby qualifying to participate in the
1993 National High School Cheerleading Championship February 20-21, 1993, at Sea World in Orlando, Florida.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
varsity cheerleading team of Middleton High School, in care of the
school's principal.
