A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING ASHLEY RIVER CREATIVE ARTS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF CHARLESTON COUNTY ON ITS SELECTION AS A NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL.

Whereas, Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School has been selected as a National Blue Ribbon School; and

Whereas, this award was given by the 1991-92 Elementary Blue Ribbon Schools Program, which is sponsored by the United States Department of Education; and

Whereas, Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School is the first Charleston County School District school to be recognized by this prestigious national program; and

Whereas, Ashley River School's receipt of this award is a high honor and one which is greatly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School of Charleston County on its selection of a National Blue Ribbon School.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School, in care of Rose Maree Myers, school principal.
