A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 14-17-375 SO AS TO REQUIRE THE CLERKS OF COURT TO PROVIDE REPORTS OF PERSONS DELINQUENT IN CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS IN EXCESS OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS TO CONSUMER REPORTING AGENCIES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 14-17-375. The clerks of court shall provide consumer credit reporting agencies a monthly report of persons who are delinquent in their child support payments in excess of one thousand dollars."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect July 1, 1996.
