A Bill to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding Section
57-3-615 so as to provide that if a toll is administered on a project by the
Department of Transportation, the toll must be used to pay for the
construction, maintenance costs, and other expenses for only that

AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH
CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 57-3-615 SO AS TO
PROVIDE THAT IF A TOLL IS ADMINISTERED ON A PROJECT BY
THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, THE TOLL MUST BE
USED TO PAY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE COSTS,
AND OTHER EXPENSES FOR ONLY THAT PROJECT.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Use of highway tolls
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 57-3-615. If a toll is administered on a project by the
Department of Transportation, the toll must be used to pay for the
construction, maintenance costs, and other expenses for only that
project."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
