A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
EXTENDING CONGRATULATIONS TO MACKENZIE
"MACK" MILLER OF AIKEN, OUTSTANDING
TRAINER OF SEA HERO, THE AIKEN-TRAINED WINNER OF
THE 1993 KENTUCKY DERBY.
Whereas, Sea Hero, owned by Paul Mellon and trained by Hall of Fame
trainer MacKenzie "Mack" Miller of Aiken, won the
Kentucky Derby on May 1, 1993, at Churchill Downs in Louisville,
Kentucky; and
Whereas, Mack Miller is one of the world's great horse trainers and has
trained for Mr. Mellon's Rokeby Stable since 1977; and
Whereas, Sea Hero, which trains in Aiken, was only the second
Kentucky Derby starter for Mr. Miller, who finished fifth in the Derby
in 1968; and
Whereas, his victory in the Derby is a tremendous accomplishment and
one for which he deserves much praise and recognition. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this
resolution, extends congratulations to MacKenzie "Mack"
Miller of Aiken, outstanding trainer of Sea Hero, the Aiken-trained
winner of the 1993 Kentucky Derby.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr.
Miller.
