 DETECTIVE DAVID GRICE OF THE LEXINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE FOR THEIR
 OUTSTANDING WORK IN THE ST. JOHN BAPTIST CHURCH INVESTIGATION.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING AND THANKING DETECTIVE BILLY ALLEN AND DETECTIVE DAVID GRICE OF THE LEXINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING WORK IN THE ST. JOHN BAPTIST CHURCH INVESTIGATION.

Whereas, Detective Billy Allen and Detective David Grice of the Lexington County Sheriff's Office rendered exemplary service in the case involving hate crimes and St. John Baptist Church in Lexington County; and

Whereas, Detective Allen spent many months working diligently on the case, which involved many dead ends before the successful conclusion; and

Whereas, Detective Grice was instrumental in breaking the case by the use of the polygraph and interview of the prime suspect; and

Whereas, Detectives Allen and Grice are excellent law enforcement officers and truly professional in every way; their efforts led to a welcome conclusion to a very difficult investigation; and

Whereas, these gentlemen are deserving of the thanks of a grateful citizenry statewide for their outstanding hard work, devotion to duty, and dedication to justice, and we are very pleased to have this opportunity to recognize them in this special manner. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commends and thanks Detective Billy Allen and Detective David Grice of the Lexington County Sheriff's Office for their outstanding work in the St. John Baptist Church investigation.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Detective Billy Allen, Detective David Grice, and Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts.
