existing school district boundary lines, and to repeal Act 593 of 1984

AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR AREAS AND BOUNDARIES FOR CERTAIN SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN
FLORENCE COUNTY, TO PROVIDE THAT NO OTHER ALTERATION MAY BE MADE OF THESE
BOUNDARIES EXCEPT AS PROVIDED BY SECTION 59-17-20, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH
CAROLINA, 1976, TO PROVIDE THAT THE TAX MILLAGE LEVIED AND COLLECTED FOR THE
BENEFIT OF THE FIRE DISTRICTS IN FLORENCE COUNTY MUST BE BASED ON THE NOW
EXISTING SCHOOL DISTRICT BOUNDARY LINES, AND TO REPEAL ACT 593 OF 1984 RELATING
TO SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN FLORENCE COUNTY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Florence County School District 1
SECTION 1. The areas as shown on the following maps in the Office of the
Florence County Tax Assessor used for fiscal year 1984 are deemed to be in
Florence County School District 1 except for the areas on Maps 30, 51, 52, and
53 which are shown to be in Florence County School District 4 and except for the
changes contained in Section 2 herein:

Boundary line
SECTION 2. (a) The boundary line between School Districts 1 and 4 in the county
as shown on map 053 is changed as follows: Beginning at a point that is the
intersection of the existing school district boundary and the north side of U.S.
Highway 76; then east along the north side of U.S. Highway 76 to the end of the
map.
(b) The boundary line for School Districts 1 and 4 as shown on map 076 is as
follows: Beginning at the westernmost point of U.S. Highway 76; then east along
the northern side of U.S. Highway 76 to the southwestern corner of lot 2; then
north along the western boundary of lots 2, 50 and 97 to the north boundary of
lot 97; then east along the northern boundary of lot 97 to the western boundary
of lot 3; then northeast along to the boundary of lot 3 to new State Highway 545;
then easterly in a straight line to the northwest corner of lot 94; then
northeast along the northwest boundary of lots 94, 92 and 67 to the northern
corner of lot 67; then southeast along the northeastern boundary of lot 67 to the
south side of U.S. Highway 76; then west along the south side of U.S. Highway 76
to the end of the map.
(c) The boundary line for School Districts 1 and 4 as shown on map 053 is
changed as follows: Beginning at the easternmost point of the south side of U.S.
Highway 76; then west along the south side of U.S. Highway 76 to the northwest
corner of lot 7; then south along the west side of lot 7 to the north side of lot
32; then east along the north side of lot 32 to the northeast corner of lot 32;
then south in a straight line to the southwest corner of lot 27; then east along
the north side of State Highway 107 to the end of the map.
(d) The boundary line for School Districts 1 and 4 as shown on map 076 is
changed as follows: Beginning at a point which is the southwestern corner of lot
7 and the north side of State Highway 107; east along the north side of State
Highway 107 to the southeastern corner of lot 55; this point is the intersection
of the right-of-ways for State Highway 107 and Interstate 95.
(e) The boundary line for School Districts 1 and 4 as shown on map 077 is
changed as follows: Beginning at a point which is the intersection of the
right-of-ways for State Highway 107 and Interstate 95; southeast in a straight
line to the northwest corner of lot 53; then south along the eastern side of
Interstate 95 to the southwest corner of lot 37; then east along the southern
boundary of lots 37, 120 and lot 75 to a point that is the intersection of lot
50; then south along the western side of lots 50, 205, 27, 30, 109 and 62 to the
southern boundary of lot 62.
(f) The boundary line for School Districts 1 and 4 as shown on map 078 is
changed as follows: Beginning at a point which is the northwest corner of lot
18; southeast along the northern boundary of lot 18 to a point which is the
northwest corner of lot 1; then south along the western side of lot 1 and
continuing in a straight line until it intersects lot 3; then west along the
northern boundary of lot 3 to the northwest corner; then south along the western
boundary of lots 3, 25, and 26 to the southwestern corner of lot 26; then east
along the southern boundary of lot 26 following the existing school district
boundary.
(g) Road S. 21-575 is the boundary line between School Districts 1 and 2 for
purposes of maps 284 and 285, except that lot 031 is in School District 1.
(h) The boundaries between School Districts 1 and 2 as shown on maps 252 and
217 shall constitute the boundaries of these districts for purposes of this map
except that portion of parcel 007 south of Road 1007 is in School District 2.
(i) Road S. 21-46 is the boundary line between School Districts 1 and 2 for
purposes of maps 283 and 314.
The changes to the above-referenced maps as contained in this section must be
shown on these maps in the office of the Florence County Tax Assessor. No other
alteration may be made of these boundaries except as provided by Section 59-17-20
of the 1976 Code.
Tax millage
SECTION 3. The tax millage levied and collected for the benefit of the fire
districts in Florence County must be based on the school district boundary lines
as they existed before being amended by the provisions of this act.
Repeal
SECTION 4. Act 593 of 1984 is repealed.
Time effective
SECTION 5. This act shall take effect August 1, 1985. |
