A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 4-1-160 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT IF ANY PROVISION OF LAW CONCERNING APPOINTMENTS TO OR APPROVAL OF A BUDGET FOR A PreviousCOUNTYNext BOARD, COMMISSION, OR DISTRICT, EXCLUDING SCHOOL DISTRICTS, REQUIRES AN ACTION ON THE PART OF A PreviousCOUNTYNext LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION, THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THAT REQUIRED ACTION, UPON WRITTEN RESOLUTION SIGNED BY A MAJORITY OF THE PreviousCOUNTYNext LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION, SHALL DEVOLVE TO THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE PreviousCOUNTYNext.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 4-1-160. If any provision of law requires an action on the part of a PreviouscountyNext legislative delegation concerning appointments to or approval of a budget for a PreviouscountyNext board, commission, or district, excluding school districts, the responsibility for that required action, upon written resolution signed by a majority of the PreviouscountyNext legislative delegation, shall devolve to the governing body of the Previouscounty."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
