A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE MR. JAMES E. "JIM" BAGNAL, JR., OF LEXINGTON PreviousCOUNTYNext FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE AS AN INSTRUCTOR IN RICHLAND PreviousCOUNTYNext SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE, THE STATE, AND THIS PreviousCOUNTRYNext AND TO EXTEND TO HIM BEST WISHES UPON HIS RETIREMENT.

Whereas, Mr. James E. "Jim" Bagnal, Jr., of Lexington PreviousCountyNext is married to Millie Crocker Bagnal, and together they are the proud parents of two daughters and the doting grandparents of three wonderful grandchildren; and

Whereas, he received his undergraduate degree and Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of South Carolina; and

Whereas, Mr. Bagnal faithfully served his PreviouscountryNext as a member of the United States Air Force for four years; and

Whereas, he distinguished himself in the private sector by working for Northwest Airlines as a Joint Airline-Military Operations Manager for eight years; and

Whereas, Mr. Bagnal began his career with Richland PreviousCountyNext School District One as a head teacher at Babcock School in 1974, began teaching special education at Fairwold School in 1975, and since 1979 has been a Special Needs Consultant in the Career and Technology Education Office; and

Whereas, he was named an outstanding Council for Exceptional Children Member in 1985 and an Outstanding Vocational Educator for South Carolina in 1991; and

Whereas, it is with a tremendous sense of appreciation that the members of the South Carolina General Assembly take note of Mr. Bagnal's accomplishments throughout his military, business, and teaching careers. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly hereby commend Mr. James E. Bagnal, Jr., of Lexington PreviousCountyNext for his many years of outstanding service to his community, state, and to this PreviouscountryNext upon his retirement from Richland PreviousCounty School District One and extend to him best wishes during his retirement years.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Bagnal.
