S-33-329 FROM U.S. HIGHWAY 378 TO HUGUENOT
PARKWAY; TO REMOVE FROM MCCORMICK COUNTY AND
TRANSFER TO THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM THAT
PORTION OF HUGUENOT PARKWAY FROM U.S. HIGHWAY
378 TO ROAD S-7 IN MCCORMICK COUNTY; AND TO
REPEAL ACT 219 OF 1993 RELATING TO THE SOUTH
CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
REMOVING FROM THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM AND
TRANSFERRING TO MCCORMICK COUNTY A PORTION OF
SECONDARY HIGHWAY S-33-329.
Whereas, Savannah Lakes Village is a multimillion dollar
development situated along J. Strom Thurmond Lake in McCormick
County; and
Whereas, this community has provided a tremendous economic
stimulus to the State of South Carolina; and
Whereas, the provision and maintenance of adequate access roads to
this community is crucial to the welfare of its residents; and
Whereas, the State of South Carolina is committed to providing the
proper infrastructure to allow the continued development of
Savannah Lakes Village by properly maintaining the community's
access roads; and
Whereas, McCormick County has a surplus in its account of highway
mileage that may be transferred to the state highway system. Now,
therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South
Carolina:
SECTION 1. The South Carolina Department of Transportation
shall remove from McCormick County and transfer to the state
highway system that portion of Secondary Highway S-33-329 from
U.S. Highway 378 to Huguenot Parkway (approximately four
thousand two hundred seventy-five feet long).
SECTION 2. The South Carolina Department of Transportation
shall remove from McCormick County and transfer to the state
highway system that portion of Huguenot Parkway extending from
U.S. Highway 378 to Road S-7 (approximately six and thirty-five
hundredths miles long).
SECTION 3. Act 219 of 1993 is repealed.
SECTION 4. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
