A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE HONORABLE SUE H. ROE, PROBATE JUDGE FOR AIKEN PreviousCOUNTYNext, UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT FROM THE BENCH AND TO WISH HER CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the Honorable Sue H. Roe was elected to take office January 1, 1984 and has served as probate judge for Aiken PreviousCountyNext continuously since; and

Whereas, born April 2, 1943 in Aiken PreviousCountyNext, Judge Roe graduated from Aiken High School and attended the University of South Carolina Aiken; and

Whereas, prior to her election as probate judge, Judge Roe served for twenty-one years in the court system, including eleven years as Aiken PreviousCountyNext Clerk of Court; and

Whereas, during her career in addition to being Clerk of Court and Probate Judge, Judge Roe served as president of the South Carolina Association of PreviousCountiesNext. She served on the National Association of PreviousCountiesNext Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee and as the committee's chairman for three years. She was appointed to be one of the ten presidential appointees to the National Association of PreviousCountiesNext Board of Directors. Judge Roe also served as chairman of the Aiken PreviousCountyNext Judicial Center Renovation Committee; and

Whereas, during Judge Roe's tenure as Probate Judge, Aiken PreviousCountyNext Probate Court and its staff earned a reputation of being efficient and helpful to citizens from all walks of life; and

Whereas, Judge Roe is a resident of Couchton, South Carolina. She has two daughters, Wendy Goodwin and Deanna Roe. Judge Roe attends Millbrook Baptist Church and enjoys gardening and reading in her free time; and

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is grateful for the legacy of leadership and service Judge Roe has bestowed on Aiken PreviousCountyNext and the State and appreciates her long and enduring service to the citizens of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Honorable Sue H. Roe, Probate Judge in Aiken PreviousCounty, upon the occasion of her retirement from the bench and wish her continued success and happiness in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Honorable Sue H. Roe.
