A BILL

TO DEVOLVE THE AUTHORITY FOR APPOINTMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR APPOINTMENTS FOR BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS FROM THE LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION REPRESENTING AIKEN PreviousCOUNTYNext TO THE GOVERNING BODY OF AIKEN PreviousCOUNTYNext AND TO PROVIDE EXCEPTIONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    (A)    In all cases where appointments or recommendations for appointments to offices, boards, and commissions are made by or upon the recommendation of the House Delegation, Senate Delegation, or Joint Legislative Delegation of Aiken PreviousCountyNext, or any other member or combination of members of the General Assembly by reason of their representing all or a portion of Aiken PreviousCountyNext, such appointments or recommendations must be made by or upon the recommendation of a majority of the members of the governing body of Aiken PreviousCountyNext.

    (B)    The application of subsection (A) does not include:

        (1)    Veterans Affairs Officer for Aiken PreviousCountyNext;

        (2)    members of the Registration and Elections Commission for Aiken PreviousCountyNext;

        (3)    Aiken PreviousCountyNext Legislative Delegation Office personnel; and

        (4)    Aiken PreviousCounty Transportation Committee.

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
