That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO REQUEST THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NAME THE PORTION OF UNITED STATES HIGHWAY 601 IN JASPER PreviousCOUNTYNext FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH UNITED STATES HIGHWAY 321 TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH THE JASPER/HAMPTON PreviousCOUNTYNext LINE THE "EUNICE HOLMAN DOE HIGHWAY" AND ERECT APPROPRIATE MARKERS OR SIGNS ALONG THIS PORTION OF HIGHWAY THAT CONTAIN THE WORDS "EUNICE HOLMAN DOE HIGHWAY".

Whereas, the Honorable Eunice Holman Doe served the residents of Jasper PreviousCountyNext in many capacities during her lifetime; and

Whereas, she was a member of the Jasper PreviousCountyNext Council for fourteen years; and

Whereas, Mrs. Doe was a dedicated school teacher who taught in the Jasper PreviousCountyNext Public School System for more than thirty years; and

Whereas, she was a member and choir director of Bethel Baptist Church in Pineland as well as the director of music for the Mt. Carmel Baptist Association for many years; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the General Assembly to pause in its deliberations to honor this daughter of South Carolina by naming a portion of United States Highway 601 in Jasper PreviousCountyNext the "Eunice Holman Doe Highway". Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly request that the Department of Transportation name the portion of United States Highway 601 in Jasper PreviousCountyNext from its intersection with United States Highway 321 to its intersection with the Jasper/Hampton PreviousCounty line the "Eunice Holman Doe Highway" and erect appropriate markers or signs along this portion of highway that contain the words "Eunice Holman Doe Highway".

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation.
