TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 4-9-32 SO AS TO REQUIRE PreviousCOUNTYNext COUNCILS TO PROVIDE OFFICE SPACE AND APPROPRIATE MONIES FOR THE OPERATION OF THE PreviousCOUNTYNext LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION OFFICE, TO REQUIRE THE APPROPRIATION TO BE INCLUDED IN THE ANNUAL PreviousCOUNTYNext BUDGET, AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE DELEGATION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE EMPLOYMENT, SUPERVISION, AND DISCHARGE OF ALL PERSONNEL EMPLOYED BY THE DELEGATION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Article 1, Chapter 9, Title 4 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

    "Section 4-9-32.    (A)    Under all forms of PreviouscountyNext government except the board of commissioners form, upon the request by a member of the PreviouscountyNext legislative delegation, PreviouscountyNext councils shall provide office space and appropriations for the operation of the PreviouscountyNext legislative delegation office including compensation for staff personnel and necessary office supplies and equipment.

    (B)    The amount of the appropriations must be determined by the legislative delegation and included in the annual Previouscounty budget.

    (C)    The delegation is responsible for the employment, supervision, and discharge of all personnel employed by the delegation."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
