AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR AN ADDITIONAL MAGISTRATE FOR MARION COUNTY AND TO PROVIDE
THAT MAGISTRATES' TERMS IN MARION COUNTY SHALL BE FOR FOUR YEARS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Additional magistrate for Marion County
SECTION 1. In addition to the number of magistrates authorized by law for
Marion County, there is authorized one additional magistrate. He must be
available during the periods established by the chief magistrate of the county.
He shall take the oath of office taken by other magistrates in the county. The
compensation of this magistrate must be set by the governing body of the county.
Term
SECTION 2. Magistrates in Marion County must be appointed for terms of four
years and until their successors are appointed andqualify.
Time effective
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor. |
