Whereas, after convincing the school district administration of the importance of having a school-based nurse on staff, Mrs. Council was the first school-based nurse in Darlington PreviousCountyNext; and

Whereas, she has been a school nurse for more than thirty-one years with the Darlington PreviousCountyNext School District; and

Whereas, Ann Council is a vanguard in health education and highly respected by her colleagues; and

Whereas, Mrs. Council directs and supervises five school-based nurses in providing preventive care, health screenings, counseling students about health issues, substance abuse, and PreviouscountlessNext other tasks too numerous to list ; and

Whereas, Ann Council serves as a role model to her profession and has had a positive impact on the careers of numerous young people within her community. The most rewarding part of her job is to see her former students grow into mature and successful adults; and,

Whereas, not only is she a dedicated wife and mother, she is a devoted nurse, friend, advisor, and listener to PreviouscountlessNext individuals; and

Whereas, we are extremely proud of Mrs. Ann Council; she is an outstanding individual and an excellent nurse; she has given freely and most generously of her time and talents to the people of her community, PreviouscountyNext, and this great State; and we are greatly pleased to have this opportunity to salute her and accord her special recognition for her commitment to health education in South Carolina.
