S. 833

A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE UPON THE DEATH OF ARMY SPECIALIST JASON LYLE MOSKI OF AIKEN PreviousCOUNTYNext, WHILE SERVING HIS PreviousCOUNTRYNext IN IRAQ, AND TO EXTEND DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of United States Army Specialist Jason Lyle Moski, of Blackville on February 25, 2005, at age 24, while bravely serving his PreviouscountryNext in Taji, Iraq; and

Whereas, Specialist Moski, dedicated to serving his PreviouscountryNext and devoted to securing freedom and democracy for the Iraqi people, was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 1st Field Artillery and was on his second tour of duty in Iraq when he gave his life in the ultimate sacrifice; and

Whereas, a native of South Carolina, he was born in Columbia, raised in Salley and assigned to Fort Riley, Kansas; he was the beloved son of Murdock V. "Murray" Moski and the late Regina New Moski; and

Whereas, Specialist Moski, a 1999 graduate of Wagener-Salley High School, played football for the "War Eagles"; he attended Midlands Technical College and before enlisting in the United States Army was a set-up technician at Nibco, Inc., in Denmark, South Carolina; and

Whereas, a devoted family man, he met his bride and soul mate, Hollie, at Nibco and from this blessed union was born his cherished daughter, Haley Elizabeth, now age 3; and

Whereas, he grew up in and was an active and faithful member of New Holland Pentecostal Church where he played the drums and shared his love and affinity for music; and

Whereas, Specialist Moski earned the respect of all who knew him, and he was not only a beloved husband, father, and son but the devoted brother of Bradley Moski and Malinda Perea; and

Whereas, in the sacrifice made by this splendid young man, our thoughts turn to the words of the old prayer...."Our heavenly Father...., we give thee thanks for all those thy servants who have laid down their lives in the service of our PreviouscountryNext. Grant to them thy mercy and the light of thy presence, that the good work which thou hast begun in them may be perfected,...."; and

Whereas, it is with great respect that the members of the South Carolina Senate pause in their deliberations to extend their deepest sympathy to the family and many friends of this great son of South Carolina who made the ultimate sacrifice for his PreviousCountryNext. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow to the family of Army Specialist Jason Lyle Moski of Aiken PreviousCountyNext, while serving his Previouscountry in Iraq, and extend deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Army Specialist Jason Lyle Moski.
