 A Bill to amend Section 7-7-280, as amended, Code of Laws of South Carolina,
 1976, relating to the designation of voting precincts in Greenville County, so
 as to redefine Precincts 15, 23, 53, 54, 76, 77, and 79; to change the name of
 Precinct 34 from Pleasant Hill to Skyland, and change the polling places in
 Precincts 24, 69, 81, 90, and 103.

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-280, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS IN GREENVILLE COUNTY, SO AS TO REDEFINE PRECINCTS 15, 23, 53, 54, 76, 77, AND 79; TO CHANGE THE NAME OF PRECINCT 34 FROM PLEASANT HILL TO SKYLAND, AND CHANGE THE POLLING PLACES IN PRECINCTS 24, 69, 81, 90, AND 103.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Precincts defined and renamed

SECTION 1. Precincts 15, 23, 24, 34, 53, 54, 69, 76, 77, 79, 81, 90, and 103, as contained in Section 7-7-280, as last amended by Act 298 of 1982, are further amended to read:

"Precinct 15, Greenville, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by the G & N Railroad; on the east by the G & N Railroad; on the south by Woodruff Rd., Haywood Rd., Laurens Rd., Laurel Creek Ln., Carolina Ave., Don Dr., Parkins Mill Rd., Lady Marion Ln., Nottingham Rd., Scarlett St., Little John Ln., S. Pleasantburg Dr. (Hwy. 291), and E. Faris Rd. Ext.; and on the west by McAlister Rd., LeGrand Blvd., S. Pleasantburg Dr. (Hwy. 291), and N. Pleasantburg Dr. (Hwy. 291). The polling place for this precinct shall be Pleasantburg Fire Station."

"Precinct 23, Greenville, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by S. Pleasantburg Dr. (Hwy. 291), Windmont Dr., Parkins Mill Rd., Ponderosa Rd., Cleveland St. Ext., Henderson Dr., Laurens Rd. (Hwy. 276), Haywood Rd., Woodruff Rd., and the Greenville city limits; on the east by the Greenville city limits; on the south by the Greenville city limits; and on the west by the Greenville city limits and the Reedy River. The polling place for this precinct shall be J. L. Mann High School.

"Precinct 24, Greenville, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by Hwy. I-385 and the Greenville city limits; on the east by the Greenville city limits; on the south by the Greenville city limits and the G & N Railroad; and on the west by N. Pleasantburg Dr. (Hwy. 291). The polling place for this precinct shall be First Church of the Nazarene."

"Precinct 34, Skyland, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by Hwy. 414, Hwy. 14, Lister Rd., Hill Rd. (Hwy. 114), and Hwy. 11; on the east by the county line; on the south by Jordan Rd. (Rt. 277), Mt. Lebanon Church Rd. (Rt. 278), Cripple Creek Rd., Berry's Mill Rd. (Rt. 98), the N. Beaver Dam Creek, Pennington Rd., and Walls Rd.; and on the west by O'Neal Rd. (Hwy. 101). The polling place for this precinct shall be Skyland School."

"Precinct 53, Greer, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by the city limits; on the east by the county line; on the south by E. Arlington Ave., W. Arlington Ave., N. Miller St., and W. Poinsett St.; and on the west by Spring St., Tremont Ave., and Forest St., Memorial Dr., Ext., and Chandler Rd. The polling place for this precinct shall be Greer High School."

"Precinct 54, Greer, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by the city limits; on the east by Chandler Rd., Memorial Dr. Ext., Forest St., Tremont Ave., Spring St., W. Poinsett Ave., and S. Beverly Ln.; on the south by the city limits; and on the west by the city limits. The polling place for this precinct shall be Tryon Street School."

"Precinct 69, Monaghan, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by McBeth St., Smythe St., Cedar Lane Rd. (Hwy. 183), and Old Buncombe Rd. (Hwy. 183); on the east by the Greenville city limits; on the south by the City View city limits; and on the west by Blue Ridge Dr., (Charleston St., Hwy. 253). The polling place for this precinct shall be Covenant Baptist Church."

"Precinct 76, Dunean, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by Hutchins St., the Southern Railroad, and the Greenville city limits; on the east by the Greenville city limits; on the south by W. Faris Rd., Simpson St., Marue Dr., and Washington Ave.; and on the west by Anderson Rd. (Hwy. 81). The polling place for this precinct shall be Dunean Recreation Center."

"Precinct 77, Chestnut Hills, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by Washington Ave., Marue Dr., Simpson St., and W. Faris Rd.; on the east by Hwy. 20; on the south by White Horse Rd. (Hwy 250); and on the west by Anderson Rd. (Hwy. 81). The polling place for this precinct shall be the American Red Cross Building."

"Precinct 79, Southside, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by Greenville city limits; on the east by Greenville city limits and the Brushy Creek; on the south by Hwy. I-85; and on the west by White Horse Rd. (Hwy. 250) and Hwy. 20. The polling place for this precinct shall be Southside High School."

"Precinct 81, Botany Woods, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by Cherokee Dr.; on the east by Edwards Rd.; on the south by Edwards Rd. and N. Pleasantburg Dr. (Hwy. 291); and on the west by Wade Hampton Blvd. (Hwy. 29). The polling place for this precinct shall be Edwards Road Baptist Church."

"Precinct 90. Devenger, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by Hudson Rd.; on the east by the Brushy Creek; on the south by Hwy. I-85 and Pelham Rd.; and on the west by Boiling Springs Rd., Devenger Rd. (Ridge Rd.), and Hudson Rd. The polling place for this precinct shall be Metropolitan Baptist Church."

"Precinct 103, Mauldin, shall consist of that area bounded on the north by W. Butler Rd.; on the east by Laurens Rd. (Hwy. 276); on the south by the Mauldin city limits; and on the west by the Mauldin city limits. The polling place for this precinct shall be Mauldin First Baptist Church Gymnasium."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
