AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-240, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS IN EDGEFIELD COUNTY, SO AS TO REVISE CERTAIN PRECINCTS AND TO DESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER ON WHICH THE NAMES OF THESE PRECINCTS MAY BE FOUND AND MAINTAINED BY THE OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICS OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Edgefield County voting precincts revised

SECTION    1.    Section 7-7-240 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 131 of 2005, is further amended to read:

"Section 7-7-240.    (A)    In Edgefield County there are the following voting precincts:

Edgefield No. 1

Edgefield No. 2

Johnston No. 1

Johnston No. 2

Trenton No. 1

Trenton No. 2

Merriweather No. 1

Merriweather No. 2

West Side

Harmony

North Side

Brunson

(B)    The precinct lines defining the above precincts are as shown on maps provided to the Registration and Elections Commission for Edgefield County as maintained by the Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board and designated as document P-37-13.

(C)    Polling places for the precincts provided in this section must be determined by the Registration and Elections Commission for Edgefield County with the approval of a majority of the Edgefield County Legislative Delegation."

Time effective

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
